Hi, If you are a writer and you want to improve your skills this is a good platform to do so.
Thank me later.
Wow, so happy it’s another season of Farafina Trust Creative Writing Workshop. I can smell selflessness here in wanting to help upcoming creative writers. I’ll make sure I apply again this year. Kudos to Farafina.
Pls, Farafina, can one be disqualified if one send a writing sample more than once? That is clicking on a particular sample up to two or three times to make sure it has been sent? Thank you for ur prompt response.
No. No one is disqualified for those reasons.
Farafina, can someone who has sent his writing sample correct an error he dictated (paragraphing error due to copy and paste) and resend his work without any alteratio? Thanks for your reply.
If I’m accepted how much would be the cost of all services for the whole ten days?
Chizurum. The Farafina Trust does not operate paid workshops. The Workshop is completely free, with room and board taken care of.
what happens when an entry goes into spam? is it ignored?
No. We comb through the spam box everyday and transfer such submissions to the inbox. All submissions are read.
Yay!! I must apply this year!
Hello farafina, Is the workshop specifically for those residing in Lagos or is it applicable to all the 36 States of the federation? I live in Abuja and i want to apply. please can i apply?
Joel
The workshop is not restricted to city or state or nationality. Do apply.
Thank you for the clarifications. I have written my application already. I am about to type it now
Farafina, am I limited to just one application? Also, can my writing sample be poetry?
As is expected, we appreciate it if you send what you consider to the best sample of your writing. We have no specific policy about the number of entries. But sending many may be a way to upset the very hard-working submissions editor who has to slog through thousands of entries. Send one entry, your best.
The workshop is a prose workshop and requires that you send a sample of either fiction or non-fiction.
can a former participant re-apply?
No. A former participant cannot reapply.
the fiction sample says maximum of 8oo words. Can one send a story up to 15oo words or more
You may. But most likely only the first 800 words will be read.
Hello farafina, how will one know if his email has being received?
All emails receive an automated response if they are received into the inbox folder.
if the go into spam, they will still be read. So long as your email provider marked the email as sent, we will read it.
Dear Farafine, I think i just sent the wrong sample the with more than 800 words… Is it alright if i re-send a new with the wright number of words or have i been disqualified? Thanking you in advance for reply.
The length of your sample will not disqualify you
